Procedure for fitting hydraulic breaker to Keenan Orbital

To remove existing parts:

1. Unbolt and remove securing tab (OS1219-15) from the top of the Breaker frame.

2. Lift Breaker (OS1219-20a) upwards until the lower pivot pin has cleared its mounting hole. Slide the bottom of the Breaker outwards until it clears the lower mounting plate and remove the Breaker.

3. Remove the adjuster plate (OS1219-06).

4. Using an angle grinder cut off the adjuster-mounting bracket (OS1212-83) from the front panel of the machine.

To fit new parts:

5. Temporarily fit new breaker (OS1219-25) in the reverse order to removal of the old version and attach the hydraulic ram and its mounting bracket.

6. Position the Breaker to its closed position (parallel to the center axis of the machine). Ensure that the ram (701065) is fully extended. Position the mounting bracket (OS1219-24) on the front channel of the front panel and mark the position of the mounting holes.

7. Remove all parts and drill the 2 mounting holes to 17mm diameter.

8. Clean, prime and paint all modified areas. Finish in Keenan green. Allow paint to dry properly before continuing assembly.

9. Refit new Breaker as before.

10. Refit securing tab to the top of the breaker frame.

11. Fit the ram-mounting bracket to the front panel of the machine and secure with the M16 bolts provided.

12. Fit the hydraulic ram to the mounting bracket and to the Breaker frame. Secure with the M20 bolts provided.

13. Fit the 3/8” hydraulic hoses (OS1219-26) to the ports of the ram and channel them to the tractor with the existing pushing system hoses. Tie wrap where necessary.

14. Reconnect the spreader to the tractor and check operation of Breaker.
